Welcome to Tibbetts Family Farm.

We are a small diversified farm in Lyman, Maine.

Our greenhouse opens the first of May with a large selection of annual and perennial flowers, but our main focus is vegetable seedlings. You will find a large selection of varieties from heirlooms to modern disease resistant hybrids. We raise over ten acres of vegetables, so we can recommend varieties that work well in this area.

The vegetable stand opens around the first of July. We carry a full line, including our own sweet corn. To assure you the freshest quality, we pick daily and never refrigerate. Produce that is not sold, along with “imperfects” are donated to a local food pantry.

We are not an organic farm, but we are very conscious of our impact on the land. Weeds are controlled by cultivation in a large portion of our gardens and most commercial fertilizer has been replaced with manure and our own compost.

We also focus on manure removal from about sixty local farms. We use this manure to create our very own compost which we have appropriately named Barnyard Blend. During the summer months we also harvest about fifty acres of hay which is sold to local farms. It can be purchased and delivered or can be picked up right in the field. In the winter we continue to stay busy by plowing snow for local residents and businesses in Alfred, Waterboro and Lyman.
